Worship Songlist for October 11, 2009

This life, therefore, is not righteousness, but growth in righteousness; not health, but healing; not being, but becoming; not rest, but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it. The process is not yet finished, but it is going on. This is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified.

Martin Luther

Jesus With Thy Church Abide – Indelible Grace.  This was our Preparation for Worship this week.

Keep her life and doctrine pure;
Grant her patience to endure,
Trusting in Thy promise sure:
We beseech Thee, hear us,
We beseech Thee, hear us.

Let Your Kingdom Come – Sovereign Grace Music.  Our Gathering Song for this week reminded us that God uses even the weak and broken to bring His kingdom.

Give us Your strength, O God, and courage to speak
Perform Your wondrous deeds through those who are weak
Lord use us as You want, whatever the test
By grace we’ll preach Your gospel till our dying breath

My Great Redeemer Lives - Aaron Angstrom.

In every dark, distressful hour
When sin and Satan join their power
Let this dear hope repel the dart
That Jesus bears us on His heart

Enough – Chris Tomlin.  It is a very simple song, but it tells us again that our salvation comes from God and that it is all we need.

All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough

Jesus I Come – Indelible Grace

Out of my shameful failure and loss, Jesus, I come; Jesus, I come.
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross, Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life’s storms and into Thy calm,
Out of distress into jubilant psalm,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

The Secret – Andy Gullahorn.  This songwriter writes songs that cut right to the heart.  The Secret is about the things we try to hide from one another.

Freedom was a hammer to a darkroom wall
That let the light shine through.
He knew carrying secrets to the grave was impossible to do.
The secrets carry you.

My Faith Has Found A Resting Place - “The gospel gives you psychological freedom to handle the wrong things that you do. You won’t have to deny, spin, or repress the truth about yourself.” – Tim Keller.  I can’t think of simpler way to say it than the lyrics of this hymn.

I need no other argument; I need no other plea
It is enough that Jesus died and that He died for me
