As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain
    your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will
    ever preserve me!

Psalm 40:11

Prelude: Take To The World (Derek Webb)

Gathering Song: Come Christians Join To Sing (Bateman)

Call to Worship – We believe God is who calls and enables us to worship Himself rightly, in Spirit and truth, so we go to His word in seek of that…

Passages from Psalm 16
Leader: Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”

All: The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply; The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.

Leader: I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

All: Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Prayer of Invocation – We pray each week asking God to direct our hearts, “prone to wander” as they are, to Himself as we sing, speak, and listen in our worship gathering…

Adoration:

Praise To The Lord The Almighty  (Neander/Winkworth)

Just As I Am – the link is to the traditional setting, we will be doing the Indelible Grace arrangement  (Indelible Grace)

Call To Confession – Psalm 40:16-17

But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation
say continually, “Great is the Lord!”

As for me, I am poor and needy,
but the Lord takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
do not delay, O my God!

(time of silent confession)

Assurance In Christ: adapted from Ephesians 3:14, 16-21
Leader: For this reason we bow our knees before the Father… that according to the riches of his glory he may grant us to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith—that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.

All: Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Song of Response: O The Deep, Deep Love Of Jesus (Indelible Grace)

(Prayers for our City, Offering, and Doxology/Word of Praise)

Doxology

Praise God who lives inside our hearts
Praise Him whose power to us imparts
Praise Him who shows us how to pray
Praise Him who seals us ‘til that day
Amen

Hearing the Word: Acts 2:1-41 “Without Hindrance” (sermon audio posted separately)

Reciting of the Apostle’s Creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Celebration of Communion

Sending: Be Thou My Vision (Byrne/Hull)

Benediction: (Numbers 6:24-26)

The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

Go in that peace!
