“It is the nature of faith to believe God upon His bare word…. ‘It will not be,’ saith sense; ‘it cannot be,’ saith reason; ‘it both can and will be,’ saith faith, ‘for I have a promise.'”—John Trapp

You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.
Psalm 142:5

Prelude: Come And Welcome (Indelible Grace Music)

Gathering Song: O Worship The King (Tomlin/Traditional)

Call to Worship – We believe God is who calls and enables us to worship Himself rightly, so we go to His word and prayer in seek of that…

Psalm 97
Leader: The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the many coastlands be glad! Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. Fire goes before him and burns up his adversaries all around.

All: His lightnings light up the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.

Leader: The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols;

All: For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.

Leader: O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

All: Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name!

Prayer of Invocation

Adoration:

Great And Mighty  (Caedmon’s Call)

Our Great God (Fernando Ortega)

Call To  Confession:(A cry to the lord, from Psalm 17:6-8 and 142:1-3,5)

Leader: I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words. Wondrously show your steadfast love, O Savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand.

All: Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings,

Leader: With my voice I cry out to the Lord; with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord. I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him.
When my spirit faints within me, He knows my way!

All:I cry to you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living.”

(time of silent confession)

Assurance of Pardon: Adapted from Galatians 5:1-6

Leader: God’s people, the yoke of slavery, of law, and of self-righteousness seeks to weigh you down, what then is your response?

All: For freedom Christ has set us free; Let us stand firm then, and not submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Leader: You who would be justified by the law; You are severed from Christ, you have fallen away from grace.

All: The righteous shall live by faith. For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
