Mike grew up in Ocala, FL and was a member of Good Shepherd, as well as a part of the worship team, long before he stepped into the position of Worship Director. He became aware of his need for Christ in High School and joined GSPC when he was 19. He is thankful for his time serving with and learning from Aaron Angstrom and Steve Germany who held his position previously, and would tell you that he never dreamed that he would be able to do what he gets to do now back then.
His first steps into music were learning children’s songs on his grandmother’s organ, which led to saxophone in middle school band, and finally guitar in high school. He started a heavy rock band in high school that ended up being signed to a label and touring the country and the world. While thankful for his opportunities and experiences, he is at home here in Ocala and delights in the challenges and joys of leading worship and having a family. Mike and his wife have two wonderful daughters. His family is involved in missions to Haiti and have worked with children from two orphanages there for 7+ years. Mike is a student at UCF working on a Literature degree and he enjoys reading, cooking, creating, and crafting in many forms.
