This life, therefore, is not righteousness, but growth in righteousness; not health, but healing; not being, but becoming; not rest, but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be, but we are growing toward it. The process is not yet finished, but it is going on. This is not the end, but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory, but all is being purified.

Martin Luther

Jesus With Thy Church Abide – Indelible Grace. This was our Preparation for Worship this week.

Keep her life and doctrine pure;
Grant her patience to endure,
Trusting in Thy promise sure:
We beseech Thee, hear us,
We beseech Thee, hear us.

Let Your Kingdom Come – Sovereign Grace Music. Our Gathering Song for this week reminded us that God uses even the weak and broken to bring His kingdom.

Give us Your strength, O God, and courage to speak
Perform Your wondrous deeds through those who are weak
Lord use us as You want, whatever the test
By grace we’ll preach Your gospel till our dying breath

My Great Redeemer Lives - Aaron Angstrom.

In every dark, distressful hour
When sin and Satan join their power
Let this dear hope repel the dart
That Jesus bears us on His heart

Enough – Chris Tomlin. It is a very simple song, but it tells us again that our salvation comes from God and that it is all we need.

All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough

Jesus I Come – Indelible Grace

Out of my shameful failure and loss, Jesus, I come; Jesus, I come.
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross, Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm,
Out of life’s storms and into Thy calm,
Out of distress into jubilant psalm,
Jesus, I come to Thee.

The Secret – Andy Gullahorn. This songwriter writes songs that cut right to the heart. The Secret is about the things we try to hide from one another.

Freedom was a hammer to a darkroom wall
That let the light shine through.
He knew carrying secrets to the grave was impossible to do.
The secrets carry you.

My Faith Has Found A Resting Place - “The gospel gives you psychological freedom to handle the wrong things that you do. You won’t have to deny, spin, or repress the truth about yourself.” – Tim Keller. I can’t think of simpler way to say it than the lyrics of this hymn.

I need no other argument; I need no other plea
It is enough that Jesus died and that He died for me

All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way.
- Isaiah 53:6

This week we looked at the work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration, the act of God’s grace where he makes us alive in the whole man.

Invitacion Fountain – The Violet Burning. This song is an invitation for those in need of Jesus to come.

Let all who are weak, all who are weary
Come to the Rock, come to the Fountain
All who have sailed on the rivers of heartache
Come to the sea, come and be set free!
If You lead me Lord, I will follow
Where You lead me Lord, I will Go

Come, Ye Sinners – Indelible Grace. This song reminds us that Jesus called us when we were sinners and not based on anything we could offer.

Come ye needy, come, and welcome,
God’s free bounty glorify;
True belief and true repentance,
Every grace that brings you nigh.
Without money, without money
Come to Jesus Christ and buy.

Heavenly Father, Beautiful Son – Sovereign Grace Music. Reflects the Trinitarian work of salvation in a sinner’s heart.

Heavenly Father, beautiful Son
Spirit of light and truth
Thank You for bringing sinners to come to You

Marvelous Grace of Our Loving Lord

Grace, grace, God’s grace
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, grace, God’s grace
Grace that is greater than all our sin

How Deep the Father’s Love For Us – Stuart Townend. This powerful hymn beautifully portrays how God has saved us through Jesus Christ.

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder – Indelible Grace. This hymn, sung after our Prayer of Confession, reminds us of the promise that God’s grace is sufficient. If we have been forgiven by God, then we do not need any other defense.

Let us wonder grace and justice
Join and point to mercy’s store
When through grace in Christ our trust is
Justice smiles and asks no more
He Who washed us with His blood
Has secured our way to God

God Who Saves – Caedmon’s Call. God calls us to new life and just as Jesus was raised from the dead, when we are regenerated in the whole man, we are raised in Him.

For He lives that we too might live
And He loves that we might also love
And know the glory of God above

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) – John Newton and Chris Tomlin. One of the most well-known and loved hymns of all time, Amazing Grace reverberates with the joy of being found by Christ.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see

As we continue to look at knowledge and how God, in His sovereignty, reveals it to us, we focused on God’s revelation through the Law. Our Scripture passage was from Psalm 119. It speaks over and over of the beauty and goodness of the Law of the Lord.

How can we see the Law of the Lord as beautiful. So often, when we try to live up to His standard, we fail. The Law sometimes shows us how much we mess up. The Law is beautiful when we see God’s provision in it for our sin. The Law was fulfilled by the Righteousness of Christ. It is that Righteousness that God gives to us and then when we can see the Law as beautiful. It is out of thankfulness that we desire to follow God’s direction.

Love Constraining to Obedience – Kevin Twit, Indelible Grace Music

“To see the Law of Christ fulfilled, to hear His pardoning voice,
Changes a slave into a child and duty into choice”

Arise, My Soul, Arise – Kevin Twit, Indelible Grace Music

“Arise, my soul, arise, shake off your guilty fears
The bleeding sacrifice on my behalf appears”

His Love Can Never Fail – Christopher Miner, Indelible Grace Music

“And though I tremble when I think how weak I am, and frail,
My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail.”

We Delight – Joshua Moore, Caedmon’s Call

“We will bow our hearts because we are free

A Debtor to Mercy Alone - Kevin Twit, Indelible Grace Music

“A debtor to mercy alone, of covenant mercy I sing;
Nor fear, with Thy righteousness on, my person and off’ring to bring.
The terrors of law and of God with me can have nothing to do;
My Savior’s obedience and blood hide all my transgressions from view.”

Awake My Soul – Sandra McCracken

“I trust no other source or name, nowhere else can I hide
This grace gives me fear, and this grace draws me near

“Since from His bounty I receive such proofs of love divine
Had I a thousand hearts to give, Lord, they should all be Thine
A thousand men could not compose aworthy song to bring
Yet Your love is a melody our hearts can’t help but sing!”
